Barrie Electrical Co. is a licensed electrical contracting business working in Barrie and the surrounding Simcoe County townships. We are not a national brand with a Barrie landing page, and we are not a referral service that sells your call to whoever is available.

The work is residential and light commercial: service and panel upgrades, ESA inspections, aluminum wiring remediation, knob-and-tube rewiring, EV chargers, backup power, and the emergency calls that come with all of it. If a job is outside what we do well — high-voltage, industrial controls, utility-side work — we say so and point you at someone who does it.

Two things we do differently, and they are the reason people call us back. First, every job that requires an ESA permit gets one, and its cost sits inside the quote rather than appearing later as an extra. Second, diagnosis is written down. You get an explanation of what is wrong, what it will take to fix, and what it costs, before anyone starts work.

How we work

Four things we will not compromise on

  • 01

    The permit is not optional

Ontario requires notification to the Electrical Safety Authority for service changes, new circuits, and most alterations. Contractors who skip it are cheaper on the day and expensive at the point of sale. We file it, ESA inspects it, and you keep the certificate.

  • 02

    Fixed prices on planned work

Panel upgrades, rewires, and charger installs are quoted as a number, not a range that drifts. If we find something behind the wall that genuinely changes the job, we stop and re-quote rather than adding it to an invoice you see at the end.

  • 03

We tell you when not to spend

A lot of what we get called about turns out to be a $150 fix rather than the $12,000 rewire someone else quoted. Aluminum wiring almost never needs a full replacement. Most flickering LED complaints are a dimmer. Saying so costs us a big job and wins the next five.

  • 04

    Local knowledge is technical knowledge

Knowing that Innisfil is on InnPower and Midhurst is on Hydro One saves a day on a service upgrade. Knowing which Barrie subdivisions have aluminum wiring means we arrive with the right connectors. That is not marketing — it is the difference between one visit and three.

Talk to a Barrie electrician

Describe the problem over the phone. We can usually tell you whether it needs a truck today or can wait for a scheduled visit — and roughly what it costs — before anyone books anything.
