Electricians in Stroud
A small community on the Innisfil side of the boundary, which puts it on InnPower rather than Alectra.
Stroud sits within the Town of Innisfil just south of the Barrie boundary along Yonge Street, and is served by InnPower Corporation. It is close enough to Barrie that most people assume Alectra; the disconnect request goes to InnPower.
Older village core, newer edges
The original village along Yonge has mid-century housing on overhead services, with the panel and service sizes you would expect of it — 60 and 100 amp, some fuse panels still in place, and branch circuits without grounds. Around it, newer residential development brings conventional 200 amp underground service where the work is additions rather than corrections.
There are also a number of properties on well and septic on the edges of Stroud. That changes the backup power conversation entirely: when the power goes, you lose water, and the well pump's starting surge is what determines the generator size. We size for the pump, not for the square footage.
Common calls
- Service upgrades on the older Yonge Street properties, usually triggered by an insurance review or a heat pump installation.
- Generator and transfer switch work on well-and-septic properties.
- Detached garage and workshop feeds — trenched underground, which we schedule outside the frost window.
- Pre-purchase inspections, since Stroud sells to Barrie commuters who do not know the local housing stock.
