Electricians in Angus & Alliston
Two communities in Essa and New Tecumseth — and, unusually, they sit on different utilities.
Angus, in Essa Township, is on Hydro One. Alliston, in New Tecumseth, is on Alectra Utilities. They are twenty minutes apart and the paperwork for a service upgrade goes to different places. It is a small thing that costs a day when it is got wrong.
Angus and CFB Borden
Angus is shaped by its proximity to CFB Borden, which means a rental market with high turnover and a large stock of housing built quickly through several expansion waves. Rapid-build subdivisions from the 1970s onward bring the usual: aluminum branch wiring in the mid-70s cohort, Federal Pioneer panels in the 80s and 90s cohort, and a lot of unpermitted basement finishing done by successive owners.
The rental concentration also means a steady volume of landlord work — safety inspections between tenancies, smoke and carbon monoxide interconnection, and correcting whatever the last tenant's brother-in-law installed.
Alliston
Alliston has an older core with genuine heritage housing and mid-century streets around it, plus substantial newer subdivision growth driven by the Honda plant and commuter demand. So it carries both ends of the range: knob-and-tube and 60 amp services in the old town, and load-calculation problems on new-build 100 amp services in the subdivisions.
Alliston is at the outer edge of our service area. Standard work is scheduled rather than same-day, and we are straight about that on the phone — for a non-urgent job we will book you properly rather than promise a window we would miss.
